Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. They moved to Oxfordshire when she was five where she attended at the Dragon School. Emma decided to be an actor at age six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing, dancing and acting. The actress had performed in a variety of Stagecoach or school shows before she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Agents for casting found Emma through her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been picked for these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The film broke records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. The film received praise from reviewers, and so were the performances of its three stars. The well-known British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards for the movie.
